Massage Therapy
Integrative therapy to relieve tension, reduce pain & restore function
More Than Massage
A Body-Brain Massage Treatment is an opportunity to allow your entire body system to reset, realign & restore itself to a natural state of be-ing.
Through subtle awareness, gentle movement, and light pressure, the body is guided to a place of safety and security where it can release held tension patterns, let go of pain, and return to a state of health and vitality. This approach addresses the true source of discomfort, which isn’t always where it’s physically felt, allowing healing to occur without force, pain, or pressure. Your body craves homeostasis—its natural state of balance—and is always working to find its way back to it.
What to Expect in a Session
Each treatment session is gentle and pain-free. The concept of “no pain, no gain” does not apply here. Forcing the body into pain only causes it to react, tighten, and brace for a perceived threat, making it hold on even more.
Treatments are personalized to meet your unique needs and may include a combination of soft tissue manipulation, the EMMETT Technique, gentle somatic movement releases, and Reiki energy healing. Depending on what your body needs, sessions may also draw from a variety of other therapeutic methods such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, chakra balancing, neuromuscular massage, manual lymphatic drainage, aromatherapy, and more. Each technique is chosen to support your body’s natural ability to release tension, restore balance, and return to a state of ease and well-being.
“After just one session, I felt like my body could finally exhale. The pain I’d carried for years started to melt away—and I didn’t even realize how much tension I was holding until it was gone.”
— JOHN DOE
Key Techniques Used
EMMETT Technique
Gentle Neuromuscular Reset
Reiki
The EMMETT Technique is a gentle and safe form of neuromuscular relaxation therapy, suitable for people of all ages and health conditions. It poses no side effects and will not aggravate existing issues. Developed by Ross Emmett in Australia, the technique is now taught and practiced in over 40 countries for both people and animals.
This muscle release therapy uses light touch to prompt a relaxation response in the soft tissues, helping to release tension, calm the nervous system, and support the body’s natural healing process. During a session, light finger pressure and gentle “switches” are applied to specific points where the body needs release and reset. This allows the entire system to realign and return to homeostasis.
Healing Energy from the Source
Reiki is a Japanese term derived from two words—Rei and Ki. Rei refers to God, Universal Spirit, Higher Power, or Source, while Ki is the life energy that flows through all living things, also known as qi, chi, or life force. Therefore, Reiki can be understood as "a healing flow of energy directed by Source." Another way to think of this energy is as the Holy Spirit.
During a treatment, you will receive a continual flow of Reiki that promotes healing, reduces stress, and increases relaxation and a sense of well-being. When you feel more centered and balanced, you tend to have more energy throughout the day, your mind becomes sharper and more focused, and your body responds with greater stability and awareness.
Reiki is a healing practice, not a religion or belief system. It is a spiritual and therapeutic technique that can be practiced alongside or independently of other healing methods. And using this technique is always optional.
Hanna Somatic Movement
Releasing Tension Through Conscious Motion
Hanna Somatic Movement is a gentle, therapeutic approach to restoring ease and balance in the body through mindful, neuromuscular re-education. Somatic simply means "of the body," and in this context, it refers to cultivating awareness and control over your movement patterns, posture, and muscular habits from within.
Using slow, conscious movements, Hanna Somatic techniques gently contract and release fascia, muscles, and tendons. This process helps unwind chronic tension, re-pattern dysfunctional movement habits, and support the body’s natural ability to heal from the inside out. Movements may be dynamic (active and flowing) or static (held with focused awareness), depending on what your body needs.
Rather than forcing change, this method empowers your nervous system to reset and encourages your body to return to a state of balance, fluidity, and ease.

After Your Treatment
For best results, plan your treatment on a day when you can rest afterward. Jumping back into a busy schedule can send your nervous system into a state of fight-or-flight, potentially undoing some of the benefits of your session.
You’ve made the investment—give your body and brain the time they need to fully reset, realign, and restore.
It’s normal to feel tired or a little different after your session. Go home, rest, put your feet up, and allow yourself to just be. Let the innate wisdom of your body do what it naturally does—heal.
Shifts in the body can feel unfamiliar, especially if you’ve been holding tension or pain for a long time. Give your brain time to adjust. It’s like learning a new skill—only this time, it’s your body learning how to move and function with greater ease.
If you feel up to it, a gentle, meditative walk can be a wonderful way to support integration. Move slowly, intentionally, and with kindness as your system settles into its new state of balance.
