Upcoming Events
Move with awareness. Explore something new. Connect with yourself and others.
Upcoming classes, workshops, and special experiences offer opportunities to explore movement, somatics, yoga, breath, mindfulness, and whole-person well-being in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Each experience is a little different, but the intention is the same: to create space to slow down, listen within, discover what feels supportive in your body, and take something meaningful with you beyond the class.
Come as you are. No previous yoga experience is needed.
Join us for a gentle, chair-based Sanctuary Yoga series exploring somatic movement and the lymphatic system. Through comfortable breathing, small joint movements, mindful movement, rest, and whole-body awareness, we’ll discover ways to support healthy lymphatic flow while learning to listen more deeply to the body.
Come as you are — no yoga experience is needed.
Dates: Tuesdays – Sept 15, 22, 29th 2026
Time: 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM
Location: Unity at The Sanctuary, Fruitland Park, FL
Registration is required. Scan the QR code on the event flyer to reserve your spot, or go to https://www.unityspiritualcenterfl.org/events
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
No. You do not need previous yoga experience, flexibility, or a certain level of fitness to participate. Somatic Yoga is less about “doing a pose” and more about noticing how your body moves and responds.
Movements are offered with options, and you are encouraged to work within a range that feels appropriate for your body that day. If you already enjoy walking, strength training, golf, traditional yoga, cycling, or other activities, somatic movement can also help you become more aware of tension, compensation, and habitual movement patterns that may show up in the things you already do.
-
Each event description will tell you whether the practice is floor-based or chair-based so you can choose the offering that best fits your needs.
Sanctuary Yoga at Unity Spiritual Center is chair-based and offers options for smaller movement, rest, and visualization. Some specialty workshops and progressive series are intentionally floor-based. If getting to or from the floor is difficult for you, please read the event description carefully or contact me before registering so we can determine whether that particular offering is a good fit.
-
Absolutely. Your body gets a vote.
You are always welcome to make a movement smaller, choose another variation, pause, rest, or skip a movement entirely. You may also explore a movement through visualization when physical movement does not feel appropriate. Somatic practice is about listening to your body with curiosity rather than pushing through or trying to “get it right.”
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move, breathe, and rest with ease.
For floor-based workshops and series, please bring your own yoga mat and any personal props you know you like to use. I will also have blocks, straps, blankets, and a few yoga mats available if you need them.
Sanctuary Yoga is chair-based, so a yoga mat is not typically needed unless the event description says otherwise. For all practices, you are welcome to bring water, an extra layer for warmth, or anything else that helps you feel comfortable.
Please avoid strong fragrances out of consideration for others who may have allergies or sensitivities.

Most current public yoga offerings are held at Unity Spiritual Center in Fruitland Park, near The Villages. Each event listing will include the location and any specific arrival or room information you need.
Be . Motivated Wellness also offers private Somatic Yoga Therapy and Yoga Comes to You at other locations. Those offerings are arranged separately from the public Events schedule.
-
Registration instructions are included with each event listing.
Sanctuary Yoga registration is handled through Unity Spiritual Center. Be . Motivated Wellness workshops and progressive series will include their own registration instructions or link. If you are ever unsure where to register, contact me and I will point you in the right direction.
-
Please plan to arrive about 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start time. This gives you time to come in, get settled, gather any props you need, and arrive in the practice without feeling rushed.
I make every effort to begin and end on time. If you arrive late, please enter and settle in as quietly as possible. For progressive series, arriving on time is especially helpful because the opening portion of the practice may introduce information or movement that supports what follows.
-
For Be . Motivated Wellness workshops and progressive series, advance registration is required.
Cancellations received at least 48 hours before a workshop, or before the first session of a progressive series, are eligible for a full refund. Once a progressive series has begun, partial refunds are not offered.
Because progressive series are designed so that each week builds on the one before, missed sessions are not routinely made up through a separate private session. If you know in advance that you will miss part of a series, please contact me before registering so we can decide whether the series is still a good fit.
Sanctuary Yoga is offered through Unity Spiritual Center on a love donation basis. If you register and then find that you cannot attend, please cancel your registration or let me know as soon as possible. Out of respect for the other participants and for the preparation that goes into each gathering, I appreciate knowing who will be there. I often prepare handouts, practice materials, or manuals for those attending, so an accurate head count helps me prepare the right amount and avoid unnecessary printing.
-
Not necessarily. I have yoga mats, blankets, blocks, straps, and other props that I can bring to your location as needed.
Before your session or event, we will talk about the space, the number of participants, the type of practice we are planning, and what equipment may be helpful. Participants are always welcome to use their own favorite mat or props as well.

A wise person once said to me: “Michelle, if you are on time, you are already late.” If I show up for a 1pm class at 1pm – I am already late. I need to get in the door, get my shoes off, collect my props, say hello to my friends, get in the practice space, set up my props, get on my mat and ahhhhhhhh – take a breath! 😊 This takes time!
Please make every effort to arrive 15 minutes before the class starts so you can be . present. If you know you are going to be late, call or text me. We want you to arrive safely.
